Bryggebroen

Swing bridge over Copenhagen harbour.

Bryggebroen bridge joins Havneholmen and Islands Brygge and is just for pedestrians and cyclists. When it opened in 2006, it was the first bridge to be built over the harbour in Copenhagen in 50 years.

Bryggebroen bridge is reserved for cyclists and pedestrians and provides a shortcut, especially for students at Copenhagen University Amager and the IT-University in Ørestad. You'll also see a large number of padlocks strung along its 190-metre length – lovers have chosen it as the spot to commemorate their love, with padlocks bearing their names.

Enter the Bike Snake

You will find Bryggebroen right behind Fisketorvet shopping centre on Kalvebod Brygge. It goes all the way to the other side near Gemini Residence on Islands Brygge.

In 2014 Bryggebroen bridge got an extension in the new cycle bridge Cykelslangen – The Bike Snake – which winds its way around the shopping centre from street level to the beginning of Bryggebroen.
