There is a special atmosphere in A.C. Perch’s tea shop. When you step through the door of the small store, you’ll feel transported back to the year 1835, when the first teas from faraway countries like China, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, India, Japan, and Africa were weighed out in the very same shop. Apart from the electric lighting, the interior is largely unchanged – for example, the teas are still weighed on old brass scales with weights. Now, as then, only tea is sold in the shop, as even the scent of coffee, chocolate, or spices can affect the delicate tea leaves.
The shop offers everything a tea lover could wish for in terms of high-quality teas. Whether you prefer classic and familiar blends or something a bit more unusual, the skilled staff can guide you to what suits your taste best. Furthermore, the staff are experts in how to brew tea properly and are ready to offer advice and guidance on the art of tea brewing.
Just above the shop, you’ll find Perch’s Tearoom, where you can sit and enjoy a pot of tea or go all in and experience an authentic English afternoon tea with tea, scones, finger sandwiches, and delicious little cakes.
